A Custom Home is a one of a kind. Designed specifically for a client’s wants, wishes and lifestyles. Each is unique. A custom home is not a customized subdivision house, where only a few changes are possible. It is an individualized new design where the only limitations are imagination and budget. Stockell Custom Homes is truly a custom home builder. We partner with some of the best architects in St Louis. Our team works with our clients and the architect to create a design that reflects our client’s vision and respects their budget.
A luxury home speaks to premium finishes and expert craftsmanship. At Stockell Homes our clients are not limited by small design centers. Our clients visit the best showrooms in the Greater St Louis area or search the world over for just the right finish. There are no limits.
Our expert craftsmanship is well known to many in St Louis. Our first project was remodeling one of the oldest country clubs in St Louis and then the members’ homes and their businesses and so on. Warson, Ladue, Huntleigh, Frontenac, Portland Place – we know craftsmanship. Our roots are Old World Craftsmanship.
A High-Performance Home incorporates the best of everything modern building science has discovered about building homes, so they will last for generations, require less maintenance, have lower utility bills, and are healthier for their occupants.
High-Performance Homes are typically verified or receive a certificate from an organization that has a stringent set of requirements, based on modern building science, that must be met to be certified. A few of these are Energy Star New Homes, Dept of Energy- Efficient New Homes (ENH), US Green Building Council (LEED), The National Green Building Standard (NGBS), Passive House (Phius) and others. These homes are inspected by third party inspectors throughout the building process to document compliance. Once a home is completed, final tests are conducted to ensure the home is performing as designed. These tests include a blower door test to check for air leaks and overall airtightness of the home, HVAC commissioning to ensure the system is working as designed in every room, checking for proper ventilation – bringing in fresh air and expelling stale air from inside to ensure the air in the home is healthy. If a home has not been certified, it is probably not a High-Performance Home. Stockell Custom Homes is a DOE Efficient New Home Builder and an EPA Indoor Air Plus Builder and has won multiple National & Local Awards for Custom Home Innovation.
