This 7,629 square foot (sqf) custom home in Sunset Hills, MO, built by Stockell Custom Homes, is a standout example of energy-efficient design and long-term value. Certified as a DOE Efficient New Home (formerly the ZERH Program when it was built), ENERGY STAR v3, and EPA Indoor airPLUS, it offers superior performance, comfort, and air quality.
With a HERS Index of just 1 (thanks to solar), monthly energy costs are estimated at only $30, saving the homeowner over $6,000 annually compared to a typical Missouri home. Over the life of a 30-year mortgage, that is a whopping savings of over $180,000.00.
Built with cutting-edge features like R-65 insulation, ground-source heat pumps, and advanced ventilation, it even qualified for the $2,000 federal 45L tax credit.

This 3,700 square foot (sqf) custom home in Marthasville, MO is the most energy-efficient home we have ever built. It has the same certifications as the previous home, and it also won the Housing Innovation Award, a national award given by the US Department of Energy to Stockell Custom Homes. This was our second time winning the award!
With its solar panels, this home achieved a HERS rating of -26, while average homes in the US sit at a HERS rating north of 60. Annual energy costs are estimated at $(33). Yes, you read that correctly; this home produces more energy than it uses! Once again, over the life of a 30-year mortgage, the savings reach beyond $180,000.00.
